The first Washington State Food and Nutrition Council event of the year is a showing of ‘A Place at the Table’ in partnership with Food Lifeline on February 27th.
The film provides information about issues around hunger relief programs in the US, and the discussion afterwards will focus on how to take action and make a difference. Nominated for the Grand Jury price at 2012 Sundance Film Festival this 84 minute family-friendly documentary seeks to spark conversation around the impact hunger has on communities across America.
“Ultimately, A Place at the Table shows us how hunger poses serious economic, social and cultural implications for our nation, and that it could be solved once and for all, if the American public decides — as they have in the past — that making healthy food available and affordable is in the best interest of us all.”
